There is now a bunch of photos and videos from Macabre's first ever Australian Tour on the Media page.
It was brilliant to finally see Macabre in Australia and to finally see them play live! A big thanks has to go to Rob and the guys at High Volatage Records for bringing them out! It obviously costs a fair bit to bring a band out from the states (and a bit of risk for the first ever tour), but good on them for having the guts to do it!
So make sure you support High Volatage Records (and Macabre) by going out and buying a copy of the Australian release of Dahmer (even if you already own it). And it has bonus DVD with footage from the recording of Dahmer and also some live videos of Dahmer songs (including Konerak...I didn't even know they ever played that song live)! Buy it!

Friday 30th July 2010 Sydney, Melbourne (High Voltage Festival) & Geelong!
Macabre are now 3 shows into their first ever Australian tour with 3 shows left, Sydney tonight, Melbourne (High Volatage Festival) on Saturday and finishing the tour in Geelong on Sunday. If you haven't seen them yet make sure you head along to one (or all) of these remaining shows...
Macabre played their first ever Australian show last night, to a small but keen crowd at The Arthouse in Melbourne. There was a was a bit of delay at the start, as Corporate Death (Lance) had no sound coming from his amp and there was also problems with his vocal setup. But after a bit of head shaking and some slightly annoyed looks from the band, they powered into the classic Dahmer opener Dog Guts. In fact the setlist of the night had a bit of a Dahmer flavour to it with more than a third of the set coming 2000 concept album and they included a few nice suprises like Temple of Bones and Trial. The rest of the setlist was a mix of old and new with songs from Gloom, Sinister Slaughter and Murder Metal including crowd favourite Nightstalker (coutless cries of "Swear to Satan").
The crowd was also given a sample of the forthcoming album "Grim Scary Tales" (due out in October) with firstly Nero's Inferno (about the Roman Emperor Nero) and later Burke and Hare (about the Irish immigrants who Murdered for profit, selling their victims corpses to a medical lecturer). Towards the end of the set Dennis seemed to be struggling (maybe a bit of travel fatique, he does work bloody hard behind the kit too), so Corporate Death announced that the next song would their last (but hinted that they would maybe do a few more). They finished the set with the brutal Hitchhiker from Dahmer and disappeared for about 10 or 15 minutes.

The Arthouse, Melbourne Australia
When Corporate Death returned to the stage he said to the few people at the front that "our drummer isn't feeling too good". Dennis eventually returned to the stage and soldiered through two more songs with the band, Grim Reality classic Ed Gein and closing the night with the Vampire Of Dusseldorf. It was brilliant to finally see Macabre playing live in Australia, they put on a killer live show (excuse the pun). It was a great setlist, but with so many songs in their catalogue there was obviously lots of classics they didn't fit in last night like Zodiac, Serial Killer and no songs about Albert Fish (even though they were selling an Albert t-shirt at the merch desk). But apparently the band will be playing a different setlist every night, so no doubt they'll play some of these songs and others (not played last night) at the other Australian shows.
Speaking of merchandise the band had some brilliant stuff for sale, including an Australian tour shirt featuring a collage of killers and a classic Zodiac shirt amonst others (but be quick as sizes and quantities are limited). They're also selling a few of albums / eps, stickers, badges and even a $5 poster (born out of this website design)! And also, the merch desk is being manned by Rodney (Macabre's manager), so say hi to him and be kind! If you miss out on anything there are still some stuff available on the Official online store: http://www.shopbenchmark.com/macabre
The full setlist for the evening was:

Monday 19th July 2010 Acid Bath Vampire (The tale of John George Haigh)
John George Haigh was an English serial killer during the 1940s. He was convicted of the murders of six people, although he claimed to have killed a total of nine, dissolving their bodies in concentrated sulphuric acid before forging papers in order to sell their possessions and collect substantial sums of money.
During the investigation, it became apparent that Haigh was using the acid to destroy victims' bodies because he misunderstood the term corpus delicti, thinking that if victims' bodies could not be found, then a murder conviction would not be possible.
The substantial forensic evidence beyond the absence of his victims' bodies was sufficient for him to be convicted for the murders and on 10 August 1949 he was hanged by executioner Albert Pierrepoint. Read more >
